Bucks Mill Cottages, near Clovelly
The village would be best described as an idyllic location, which for the most part is undiscovered compared with its illustrious coastal neighbours, and what it lacks for in amenities it more than makes up for in location.
The South West Coast Path runs through the village, offering excellent walking routes along the North Devon coastline. A popular walk from the village begins in Buck’s Mills car park, and follows a circular route, taking in Peppercombe Castle. On route you will be treated to expansive sea views, ancient woodland swarming with wildlife and two remote sand and shingle beaches.
Alternatively take the five mile trip to neighbouring Clovelly, to discover another stunning coastal village. Oddly enough there is an admission fee, due to the village being privately owned. For the entrance fee you get parking and entrance to Clovelly Court Gardens and two museums.
