Description

Special reduced prices for couples out of season

Peppercombe Holt offers a truly peaceful retreat nestling in a tranquil wooded valley leading down to the sea. This delightful semi-detached character cottage is set within a canopy of ancient trees with an abundance of ferns and wild flowers which will enthral nature lovers including those who choose to visit in May and experience the wonderful show of bluebells along the coastal path. The cottage is approached via a narrow, steep, gravel track of just over one third of a mile. The nature of this lane makes it unsuitable for low suspension or wide vehicles, may not suit an inexperienced driver but allows the tranquillity of this unique location. Vehicular access is to the two cottages only with the footpath continuing to the sea. The cosy living room with inglenook has a wood burning stove, lovely at any time of year. The modern kitchen features a slate tiled floor complimented by granite style worktops and is well equipped for all your needs. From a rear utility room, useful for coats and boots, five steps lead up to the modern family bathroom and an open tread staircase leads to the three bedrooms on the first floor. A spacious double room, and one generous and one more compact single room, all have wonderful views and feature deep window sills, and traditional latched board doors. As may be expected in this type of cottage some doorways have low head room. At the side of the cottage there is a raised patio area, and in front a picnic table for al fresco dining. The sloping and a tiered cottage garden, with covered pond, has lots of peaceful spots to relax surrounded only by the sounds of nature. Keen walkers will find endless coastal and country footpaths leading almost from the doorstep, a favourite being the walk to Peppercombe Beach, shown in the photograph, with its unique red cliffs and mini waterfall. Pebbles at high tide give way to a lovely sandy strand with interesting rock pools and beach fishing at low tide.  In an unforgettable and unique location Peppercombe Holt is just perfect for a truly get away from it all holiday.

Excellent property, atmospheric cottage with cosy log fire in a very peaceful scenic location, highly recommended.

Adam Merrifield,

We didn’t want to leave to come home, as it felt like home from home, would love to live there.

A Hussey,

A real delight; It worked really well for our family of 2 teenagers and 2 large dogs. The setting was beautiful and the owner very helpful.
