Bishop's Tawton Cottages
Bishop’s Tawton is a rural village in the heart of North Devon, with convenient road links into Barnstaple, a bustling town which lies three miles north of the village.
The village is home to a 14th century church, and the well regarded Chichester Arms which is once again under the stewardship of local favourite Nobby.
From the village you can enjoy a variety of countryside walks and cycle routes for all ages and abilities. Bishop’s Tawton to Landkey is a very popular circular walk, encompassing Devon’s rolling countryside, rivers, woodlands and pubs. The walk is a moderate five miles, and on a clear days offers views over Exmoor and out to sea.
Heading a little further north Barnstaple is a welcoming town, always offering something to do or see. It plays host to a number of events including, the North Devon Food Festival and the popular Barnstaple Christmas Lights Switch On.
