Description

Light, spacious and airy, this detached holiday home has some of the best coastal views we’ve seen, extending to Dartmouth Castle and out to sea. Cherry Trees sits above the River Dart in Kingwear, the house was built in the 1960’s and has undergone extensive refurbishment, offering a very comfortable spacious holiday bolthole.

Stylish Cherry Trees has delicate touches of the Arts and Crafts era combined with natural teak hardwood floors and walls. The property is lovely and bright and a real feature is the expansive terrace with river views. Such a perfect place to relax with a magazine and put your feet up!

The historic steam railway and ferry are both just a short walk away from the house so it's easy to have a couple of car free days… A real holiday! Take the ferry across to Dartmouth and explore the port and stroll around the narrow streets and out to the castle at the mouth of the river.  

Cherry Trees is a special place and offers a wonderful base for your holiday in this beautiful part of South Devon.

Accommodation:

Living/dining: Spacious teak panelled room with outstanding views out towards Dartmouth Castle. Sliding patio doors. Unique individual pieces of furniture offer seating for 4. Electric flame fire, dining room table and 6 chairs. Wall units offer an office space to sit and work at if required, TV and CD player. Hallway to lovely sitting area, again with unique pieces of furniture and amazing views of the river. A door leads out on the the patio area and the room is flooded with light.

Kitchen: Newly refurbished with dishwasher, oven and fridge. A washing machine and dryer can be found off the hallway in the cupboard next to the bathroom.

Bedroom 1: Double bedroom at the end of the hall with built in wardrobes and chest of drawers.

Down a small flight of stairs to bedroom 2: Large bright room enjoying those stunning views from the windows, patio doors onto the patio and the garden. Double bed, chest of drawers, dressing table.

Bedroom 3: Another good sized double with free-standing wardrobe and views of the river.

Bathroom: Newly tiled shower over bath, sink and WC. There is also the provision of a separate cloakroom.

Parking: Parking is at the top of the drive and there is ample space for up to three cars.

Facilities and services: WiFi connection available. Bed linen and towels provided. (Beach towels not provided.)  Arr/Dep. For weekly bookings is Saturday. Short breaks available in low and mid season, minimum 3 nights. Garden. Shop: 0.5 miles. Pub: 0.5 miles. No smoking. Sorry, no pets. Parking.

This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £250, which is payable to Marsdens Devon Cottages with the final balance of your holiday, eight weeks prior to your arrival, and is refunded within 5 working days of your departure. Alternatively, you may wish to pay a non-refundable Accidental Damage Deposit Waiver equivalent to 10% of the Accidental Damage Deposit value, which covers you for the full value of the Accidental Damage Deposit, should any damage occur during your stay.

Reviews

Lovely big property in a stunning location, the views really are going to be hard to beat in the future. Very clean on arrival with all the modern conveniences such as dishwasher, electric oven, good quality rain shower, comfortable beds and WiFi. Let down only by the dated decor, but this would not put us off returning.
