A wonderful spacious holiday home in the heart of Shaldon. The Merchant House is a stylish four bedroom retreat with plenty of room for seven guests - complete with wood burner, stylish kitchen with range cooker and a pretty private courtyard with fairy lights. Accommodation is over three floors, all beautifully presented combining traditional features with contemporary style. The property has the added bonus of a ground floor bedroom and shower room, perfect for less able guests. A further two bedrooms on the first floor and fourth bedroom on the second floor.
Shaldon is a quaint little fishing town which lies opposite Teignmouth at the mouth of the River Teign, hop on one of the regular ferries and explore further afield. It’s a great place for walking too with the South West Coastal Path offering some fabulous coastal strolls right on the doorstep. Follow one of the nature trails, do a spot of bird watching on the river or try your hand at one of the water sports on offer. Golfing enthusiasts will enjoy the 18 hole golf course, the charming local conservation zoo is a must, as are the fabulous beaches and the Homeyards Botanical Gardens. Visit in August and join in the fun of the annual Shaldon Regatta, so be prepared to get swept up in the merriment! Guests are within a 20 minutes' drive of the lively attractions of Torquay and the surrounding area has many popular National Trust properties, beaches and coastal tourist attractions.

This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £250, which is payable with the final balance of your holiday, eight weeks prior to your arrival, and is refunded within 5 working days of your departure. Alternatively, you may wish to pay a non-refundable Accidental Damage Deposit Waiver equivalent to 10% of the Accidental Damage Deposit value, which covers you for the full value of the Accidental Damage Deposit, should any damage occur during your stay.
Merchant House was a lovely house in an area that we love. Great location beautiful village, lovely friendly people and wonderful places to eat. Dog friendly cafes and restaurants
Very comfortable in an excellent location. Totally satisfied. Perfect for a child friendly holiday. Looking to book again for next year. Excellent in all respects. Small touches such as a small supply of essentials (Tea sugar coffee etc) really gave it that little bit extra. There is nothing I can add about the property other than to say i would recommend it to anyone. Am certainly looking to rebook for next year.

Lovely home perfectly positioned for the beach. We had home from home comforts....would definitely recommend this property! Shaldon is a delightful seaside village in a very good position to explore south Devon!
