This pretty seaside bolthole is beautiful with comfortable furnishings and plenty of coastal charm. The front gate leads onto a charming courtyard garden with table and chair, a lovely spot to relax and kick off the sand. Step inside and you have a delightful open plan living area incorporating the kitchen and dining room with plenty of room for 4 people. Cosy up in front of the wood burning stove, relaxing on the soft sofa or pull up a bean bag. The shaker style kitchen is well equipped with cooker hob, oven, microwave, toaster, cafétiere, fridge and dishwasher. The ships lanterns over the dining area add to the nautical feel, a lovely place to share a meal with a glass of wine.
Star Cottage is all about relaxed living, the effortless style extends upstairs into the two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a spacious King size bed, built in wardrobe and chest of drawers and stylishly decorated in blue and white. The second bedroom has a double bed, chest of drawers and a chair for your comfort. The first floor bathroom comes complete with a bathtub with shower over.
Shaldon is the perfect village for a coastal break with shops, cafes and restaurants just a short stroll away. Sitting alongside the cottage is the popular Shipwright Arms, a good option if you fancy eating out during your stay. The riverside setting also makes it the perfect base from which to enjoy plenty of scenic dog walks. The passing South West Coastal Path provides a breathtaking range of coastal and countryside walks on the doorstep; with nature trails, bird watching and forest walks accompanying most of the routes. The riverside setting also invites many to take to the water with canoeing, sailing and water sports. Shaldon also has a park, a 9-hole golf course, a charming local zoo, a host of lovely beaches and the Homeyards Botanical Gardens. Visit during August and join in the fun of the annual Shaldon Regatta!
Shaldon also offers a passenger ferry service to Teignmouth (from where trains operate to Exeter, Plymouth & London).
Shaldon is within a 20 minute drive of Torquay and numerous National Trust attractions. Nearby Dartmoor also offers a dynamic day out for walking, mountain biking, wild swimming and extreme sports.

Security deposit: This property has a refundable Accidental Damage Deposit of £200, which is payable to Marsdens Devon Cottages with the final balance of your holiday, eight weeks prior to your arrival, and is refunded within 5 working days of your departure. Alternatively, you may wish to pay a non-refundable Accidental Damage Deposit Waiver equivalent to 10% of the Accidental Damage Deposit value, which covers you for the full value of the Accidental Damage Deposit, should any damage occur during your stay.
