The hustling and bustling hub of Ilfracombe's harbour society, ideally positioned between the Quay and Fore Street, Adele's extends a famously friendly welcome to dogs as well as humans. There are plenty of hairy mugshots on the website's 'Café Life' page, where regular faces and visiting customers are celebrated – some of them belong to grizzly fishermen, others to lap pooches who sit pretty with their owners, lapping up all the local gossip.
Whichever category you fall into, Adele's is great place to drop in for a cuppa or a cheeky cream tea – though to be honest dog-walkers who have been pounding the sands for miles will want something more substantial. In which case, the legendary all-day breakfast plate will fill pretty much any hole, and there's a wealth of other hearty and non-pretentious options on the menu too, including the three-sausage and egg combo, jacket spuds with various fillings and homemade lasagne. Adele's opens from 7.30am to 4pm seven days a week from March to December, and has seating for 36 customers and their canines inside, and a table outside for those who want to soak up the sun.
