The Beach Hut
Take a walk alongside the surfers, kite-boarders and surf kayakers that flock to the extreme sports scene on Watergate Bay, then hang out in one of Newquay’s coolest beachside cafés. The interior of The Beach Hut might be uber-chic, with surfboards hanging from the wall and leather dining benches, but it’s also the sort of place where sandy dogs loll under the tables while their owners tuck into classic bistro food.
From lazy breakfasts and long lunches to gourmet dinners, the food is stuffed with local ingredients – and the proof of its quality is in the necessity to book a table at weekends and during holidays. However, you don’t have to order a legendary burger or a Cornish seafood feast – you can simply shelter from the storms over an Extreme Hot Chocolate, or bask on the sun deck with a cocktail in hand. And, if The Beach Hut really is too crowded, the trendy Living Space at the neighbouring Watergate Hotel also allows dogs into its contemporary seaside lounge and dining room.
