The Kings Arms
Nestled in the picturesque village of Georgeham, the Kings Arms is a fantastically friendly pub, both for those on two legs and their four-pawed companions. Above-bar treats for those at the top end of the lead include ales from local breweries such as Wizard, while down at floor level you'll find strategically placed water bowls to rehydrate the hound. Ask nicely (remember to wag your tail) and jars of dog biscuits and treats have also been known to magically appear.
There's a lovely welcoming open fire – enthusiastically embraced by dog walkers and their charges after breezy walks through the local countryside. Children are also welcome throughout the pub, and traditional bar games are available to play. There don't seem to be any restrictions on where you can sit with your dog, so long as you both behave yourselves. The service is friendly and the food is excellent – they've just been nominated for the Best Sunday Roast in the Devon Life Good Food & Drink Awards 2013. There's also an eclectic range of evening entertainment, from live music to Latin dancing. Parking is in the village car park just over the road from the pub.
