The Prince of Wales
A traditional Devonian pub that offers a subtly different feel to the George and Dragon, which is located right next door. Still with low ceilings and classic wooden beams throughout, the Prince offers a proper pub feel, and is popular with visitors and locals alike, although it appeals to a slightly younger crowd, with a pool table located in the main bar and live sport showing on the TV.
There's also a skittles alley, should you want to try your arm at one of the Southwest's traditional sports. Well-behaved dogs are very warmly welcomed throughout the bar area, and the pub is open all day. They serve good reliable homemade pub-fodder food, and host a popular carvery on Sundays, and you can wash their reasonably priced meals down with a pint of real ale, served on pump at the bar. It has a walled beer garden, perfect for the warmer months, and welcomes children as well as pets. Look out for special evening entertainment, too, including live music.
