This cute cottage in Combe Martin is ideal for a couple who want to explore both coast and countryside. Dog-friendly, it has a pretty garden, is less than a mile from the beach and has the bonus of allocated parking.

A stable door leads you straight into a Shaker-style kitchen where you’ll find all the home-from-home essentials to help you cook up and serve everything from a hearty breakfast to a delicious end-of-the-day dinner. Step down through the archway from here and you’re in the lounge, where there are character beams, a comfortable sofa and dining area; when you want to relax there’s a Smart TV and shelf full of books and games for you to choose from. A pretty family bathroom completes the ground floor layout; from the lounge a steep staircase leads to two bedrooms – one a double and the other with a single bed. Let the dogs enjoy some down-time as you unwind with drinks in the enclosed garden – there’s a raised patio area with seating and a BBQ if you fancy an alfresco feast as you enjoy views over the surrounding hills and the chatter of the chickens that are housed close by.

Enjoy a traditional seaside holiday in pretty-as-a-picture Combe Martin ¬– once important as a port for trade and fishing, today the village has all the must-haves for an effortless stay including shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Enjoy a day swimming, kayaking or exploring rock pools at the beach, or follow the South West Coast Path for some stunning coastline views. Less than 6 miles away, Ilfracombe is known as the gastronomic capital of North Devon and is home to Damien Hirst’s striking statue, Verity, as well as the unique Tunnels Beaches and their tidal bathing pool. If you like a sporting challenge, Ilfracombe Golf Club has a spectacular cliff-top course where it's said you can see the sea from every tee.

The best cottage we've stayed in by far! Beautiful views, great location, very well equipped with absolutely everything you need. Fabulous shower! A lovely welcome pack provided too. Absolutely fabulous! Yes, the stairs are steep, but perfectly manageable. The main bedroom is a mezzanine - no door, but the single bedroom has a door and baby gate.
