This beautiful period cottage located in the picturesque fishing village of Appledore in North Devon is a great place to escape your busy pace of life and enjoy a rather more sedate one with stunning views across the estuary. Situated on a quiet street, this property offers lots of space and comfort in a waterside location. It is within walking distance of several pubs, cafes and shops and is only 3 miles from the golden, sandy beach and clean surf of Westward Ho!.
Appearances can be deceiving and this is certainly the case with this property. From the outside, it seems like a small cottage in a fishing village, but as you enter, you will see the abundance of space on offer. The smart, comfortable lounge located on the first floor has ample seating for all guests and offers wonderful views across the estuary. The well-equipped kitchen/diner also has plenty of space and has patio doors leading out to the sunny courtyard which overlooks the sea. The two bedrooms are traditionally furnished and boast some lovely period features. The addition of bunk beds in one of the double bedrooms makes this a great place for families.
Appledore is lovely to explore, but there is plenty more to discover in the area. In the summer months, you can catch the ferry across to the sandy beach and pubs of Instow. For more beaches and a dabble in surfing, Westward Ho! is one of the best stretches of sand in the area, while for heritage, the picturesque, cobbled village of Clovelly is a unique experience (14 miles). For fun-filled family days out, head to The BIG Sheep or The Milky Way (both within 12 miles).
