This beautifully decorated house sits in an elevated position above the Victorian seaside town of Ilfracombe on the North Devon coast. It’s the perfect place to stay if you’re keen to explore the town and local area including the stunning North Devon coastline with its sandy beaches and clean surf, as well as the breathtaking moorland of Exmoor National Park. This property is only a few hundred metres from the bustling harbour where Damien Hirst’s twenty-metre sculpture, Verity, looks proudly out towards the dramatic cliffs, Lundy Island and Wales.
This well-presented home is tastefully decorated throughout to make the most of the space and create a light and airy feel, while the reverse-level accommodation allows you to make the most of the views. Two super king-size rooms, both with en-suite, are on the ground floor as well as the handy utility room for muddy boots and sandy wetsuits. Upstairs, you’ll find the third king-size bedroom, a well-equipped kitchen and a comfortable lounge/diner with access to the roof terrace. The roof terrace is the perfect place to while away the hours; here you can enjoy a glass of wine whilst taking in the far-reaching views.
The lovely town of Ilfracombe is full of things to see and do, including boat trips and cruises from the harbour, the Victorian Tunnels Beaches, a lively High Street and its own cinema and theatre. Further afield, North Devon’s finest surfing beaches, Woolacombe, Putsborough and Saunton, are all within 11 miles. The historic cliff railway at Lynton and Lynmouth (19 miles) is worth a visit, as are superb family attractions such as Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park (7 miles) and Watermouth Castle (3 miles).
