Catch the ferry to nearby Instow, set out along the Tarka Trail or soak up the sun on Westward Ho! beach (3 miles). Or venture further afield to visit Saunton Sands (18 miles), RHS Rosemoor (11 miles) or Dartington Crystal (10 miles).

The owners obviously take great pride in their property as demonstrated by how spotlessly clean it is, the comfortable and modern furnishing and how well equipped it is . If youre considering booking this holiday, just do it. You will not regret it! Appledore is lovely and this property is lovely too. Great location. Very clean. Spiders are a concern (in life!) and even though we visited Upside in late September, didnt see a single one. Like minded people, book with confidence!

We chose Upside because it has a parking space, and couldnt have made a better choice. This is a lovely property; warm, comfortable and well equipped, with excellent Wi-Fi and a lovely garden. The owners have provided everything you could possibly need. The top floor bedroom has stunning views over the estuary. A very nice house with some amazing views in an excellent location. Clean, comfortable and very well equipped. Great to have own parking space and the garden, which is beautifully maintained. The garden room is a real bonus on a rainy day.

Lovely house within easy walking distance to the town with restaurants and pubs to enjoy. Cooking in the property was easy too with everything you could need - a home from home. The outside area had plenty of space to sit and relax. Lovely views from the top floor. Great place to explore local attractions in Devon. Would be happy to return.

What a super home from home everything you could need has been thought of here even down to a hairdryer in each bedroom ! Every kitchen gadget it had the outside area was great for summer days ! Within 3 minutes walking distance of town of Appledore . Super comfy stay beds luxurious will definitely return .

Lovely cottage. Well kept and spacious. Ideal location as its a few minutes walk to the quay and several playgrounds nearby. Great location for driving to local attractions. We would definitely stay here again.

Very good cottage but a bit disappointed with Appledore very limited eating places always booked up . Other than that the cottage was excellent.

Would definitely recommend Upside as a lovely place to stay. The property is well situated, very well equipped and furnishings to a high standard. Plenty to do within walking distance, Appledore is very pretty with a good selection of places to eat. Having the car parking space was a definite bonus. A great deal of thought and care has gone into the decor and facilities for Upside! Exceptionally clean! Great location for walking into Appledore! Beautiful garden ... would love to have a seating area on the higher level to get the last rays of the sun! Sunroom very cosy (for 3) with best views!
