Retreat to this beautiful barn conversion close to the village of Bow, in rural Devon. Up to four guests can stay at the immaculate holiday home, which has been given a distinctly modern edge and is approximately 10 miles from the edge of Dartmoor National Park. Head out on long hikes through picturesque countryside and forest, or spend the day in the bustling, ancient cathedral city of Exeter, 17.5 miles away. Return to the tranquillity of the stylish, single-storey property, which is set within the grounds of the owner's home.
Make your way into the light-filled former barn and find yourself in the open-plan kitchen/diner/lounge. Relax in front of the Smart TV, prepare dinner for your party then gather round the table to enjoy your feast and plan tomorrow's fun. On warm days pull open the bi-folding doors on to your patio and carry fresh coffee out into the sunshine. As the day draws to a close, head off to one of your two comfortable bedrooms or run yourself a long, hot bath in the family bathroom. Make the most of the property's partly turfed wrap-around garden by enjoying breakfast outside on summer mornings and BBQs together on warm evenings.
Drive 13 miles from your attractive holiday home to explore the glorious gardens of Castle Drogo in Dartmoor National Park. This National Trust building, which was designed and built in the 20th century by celebrated architect Sir Edwin Lutyens, stands above the ancient woodlands of Teign Gorge. Almost 10.5 miles from your base, the ruins of Okehampton Castle are also worth a visit. These once formed the largest castle in Devon and still sit in a scenic woodland setting.
