Perfectly situated just a short drive from the coast and amidst beautiful woodland with an abundance of wildlife, this lovely lodge provides a great base from which to explore North Devon and Cornwall.

Immerse yourselves in natural Devon when you stay at this delightful, single-storey holiday lodge on the edge of Woolsery. Also known as Woolfardisworthy, the village is approximately 3.5 miles from Clovelly, which is set in the Hartland Devon Heritage Coast area and famous for its steep hillside setting and donkeys that carry goods up and down its slopes. Sleeping six people and also welcoming two dogs, the spacious, three-bedroom cabin is surrounded by woodland and comes with its own hot tub in which you can relax as you look out for wildlife or gaze up at the stars.

Step inside the inviting abode and find yourselves in an open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Gather in here to watch a film on the Smart TV or play games together. On fine days, pull open the door on to the terrace so everyone can spill outside. Take turns at cooking tasty meals for your party then dine together at the table inside or out. Enjoy a long soak in the family bathroom after exhilarating days out, then head off to either the king-size bedroom, which has its own balcony and en-suite shower room, with washer/dryer, or either of the two twins. Dine outside as often as possible; sizzle supper on the BBQ on occasion and enjoy the peace and the privacy. Unwind in your personal hot tub as often as you choose. Find parking for two cars comes with the cabin.

Go to the beach at Clovelly or head 11 miles to Westward Ho! where you can swim, surf and paddleboard from the long sandy beach. Pick up the South West Coast Path at Clovelly and hike 10 miles to Hartland Quay through ancient woodland and past waterfalls. Take the children to the Milky Way Adventure Park, less than 2 miles from the lodge.

Had a lovely stay in a lovely cabin, fabulously remote, quiet and restful location. The weather was great too, which helped & it was just what we needed, Thank you! The birds, other wildlife and stars are lovely from the deck and the hot tub! To note, the deck and garden are not dog secure, so you'll need to take long leads to attach to a deck postRead more if you wish to relax outside as dogs can get to the whole site/neighbours if roaming free. Very secluded spot - a bit too secluded for us. The lodge had all the bedding youd need and towels for normal use and hot tub use. The kitchen was well equipped. Vast majority of the time the Wi-Fi was good too. The Lodge itself was very comfortable and very private and well equipped, but the surrounding area and decking are in much need of maintenance as very tired looking. You must be prepared for driving down narrow lanes. The walks from the lodge are very difficult to find as again are overgrown.

Great setting for peace and quiet, the hot tub was fabulous. I would recommend the village pub for classy food, the chip shop also brilliant. We would go again, the location was close to unspoilt seaside beaches, and charming towns.

Lovely location, place is a little dated but very comfortable. If you like bird watching you'll really enjoy your time here. Wonderful hideaway in rural Devon. Well equipped, comfortable beds (we are very fussy about beds), and close enough to be on a beach or to a supermarket within half an hour. We loved the peace. Half an hour to Bude and slightly less to Bideford. Highly recommend Monterey Lodge and expect we will book again for future years.
