  • Enjoy superb onsite fishing, right on the doorstep

This single-storey lodge sits next to a tranquil fishing pond within a 7-acre plot of mixed woodland. A peaceful retreat for two, it’s just a short walk from Bradworthy village and within easy reach of the seaside resort of Bude.

Simply relax and enjoy the serenity when you retreat to this tranquil lodge in woodland, close to Bradworthy in Devon. One of three secluded retreats set within seven acres of mature grounds, with access to a fishing pond, the one-bedroom, holiday home sleeps two guests and also welcomes one canine companion. From here, head 13 miles to reach the seaside town of Bude, where you can spend time on Summerleaze Beach, or pick up a section of the South West Coast Path from near Coombe, 9 miles away.

Take three steps up and wander across the veranda and into this peaceful, single-storey abode. Find yourselves in a bright, open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner, where you can prepare tasty meals to enjoy together when you don’t feel like eating out. Stoke up the wood burner in here then relax together with the TV on or with music playing through the stereo. Make a cup of tea and enjoy it as you read your book or gaze out over the pond. At the end of each wonderful day, run yourself a long, hot bubble bath then lay your head in the double bedroom. An extra fold-out bed can be set up by prior arrangement. Wake up on fine days to enjoy breakfast on the veranda. Look out for wildlife in the pond. There is plenty of parking at the lodge.

Head to Tamar Lakes, 4 miles from the holiday home, to go walking, cycling, rowing or kayaking. Visit the enchanting nature reserve at Dunsdon, 5.5 miles away. Plan a day out to tranquil Welcome Mouth Beach, 9 miles from your base. Pick up the South West Coast Path here and walk 4 miles along the clifftops to Embury Beacon, taking in dramatic, coastal views. For a longer, 9-mile walk, venture as far as Hartland Point.
