Full of charm and character, this traditional Grade II-listed Devon cottage has retained many of its original features and is the perfect retreat for small families looking to enjoy a holiday in the breathtaking Devon countryside.

Boasting quirky walls, low ceilings and plenty of charming original features, this authentic thatched cottage exudes character and offers a truly unique place to stay in rural Devon. Situated in the heart of Witheridge and with plenty of Devonshire attractions close by, you can be sure that fun is to be had each and every day throughout your next country getaway. Happily hosting five guests across two generous doubles and one exceptionally cosy single, this appealing property promises cosy nights in and memory-filled days at the beach and outdoor activities in nearby national parks.

Despite its traditional country aesthetic, this property has been thoroughly modernised to ensure that you’ll want for nothing when staying here. Outwardly, the country kitchen appears to retain a simple and traditional style, yet with a first-rate electric range oven, dishwasher and an American-style fridge/freezer, preparing meals and clearing up after will be a doddle throughout your stay. After a hearty meal enjoyed at the breakfast table, step through to the lounge where a Smart TV and electric fire nestles into an inglenook fireplace offers an ever-calming space to spend the evening. Alternatively, an enclosed patio is perfect for an evening tipple in the last of the day's sun before heading off to bed.

Surrounded by restaurants, pubs and handy little shops, Witheridge truly is an enviable holiday spot for breaks in the Devon countryside. Take a short trip in the car to Exmoor National Park (12.5 miles) or Dartmoor National Park (19 miles) where hiking and cycling routes aplenty are on offer. Spend an afternoon viewing animals at Exmoor Zoo (22 miles) or find time to visit the beautiful National Trust property of Arlington Court (25.5 miles).

Lovely and comfy cottage in a nice old village. History come alive. One can still smell the old fireplaces! Perfect if you like or need solitude. At least there's a pub and the convenience store. But you definitely need a car, there's nothing to visit within walking distance. Anyway it's a good starting point for day trips to all points of the compRead moreass. Hide
