This romantic retreat is set amongst the owner’s 15 acres of Devon countryside. Enjoy walks directly from the property, as well as along the South West Coast Path and in Dartmoor National Park (both within 8 miles). Nearby attractions include the South Devon Railway, Buckfast Abbey, and Agatha Christie’s former holiday home, Greenway (all within 20 miles). After a busy day, enjoy a sundowner on your peaceful patio whilst watching the local wildlife.
Enter the rural bolthole via the French doors, into the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. The space is bright and airy and cute artwork and accessories make it feel homely and inviting. The kitchen area has everything you need to rustle up romantic dinners for two to enjoy together at the dining table. In the evenings, sink into the plump sofa to watch a film on the TV or read your favourite book. As the sun sets, retire to the pretty double bedroom, which enjoys relaxing views across the surrounding countryside and has a stylish en-suite shower room. Patio doors lead to an enclosed garden with a BBQ and furniture for al fresco dining, and steps leading to a grassed area where four-legged guests can play. You’re also welcome to explore the owner’s grounds.
Heading north, you’ll soon reach Dartmoor National Park (8 miles). Spend time pottering around the cute towns and villages, such as Buckfastleigh and Ivybridge, before setting off on one of the many walking trails through the wild and rugged landscape. Alternatively, journey south, where you’ll find the popular seaside towns of Salcombe and Dartmouth (both within 13 miles). Both towns have a fantastic range of independent shops and eateries, and are great places to try a whole host of water sports. You’ll also find some of the county’s finest beaches, including Bigbury-on-Sea and Blackpool Sands.
