Surrounded by countryside and with views across to Dartmoor, this open-plan barn offers free fishing on site as well as a games room and open-air table tennis. Set on the Devon/Cornwall border close to beaches and charming towns, it’s a stylish, year-round escape ideal for couples and families.
This charming holiday cottage has been beautifully converted to retain characterful features such as old beams and exposed stone while allowing in plenty of light. The ground floor is composed of an open-plan living space, with a comfortable lounge (with Smart TV) flowing through to a kitchen/diner. Here, there’s all the equipment you’ll need to create delicious dinners, and after eating you can linger at the wooden table to play games or discuss your adventures. On the first floor you’ll find a gorgeous double bedroom with a double-height window and an en-suite shower room, plus a lovely twin room with a vaulted ceiling and ample storage. A family bathroom completes the interior. From the lounge, patio doors lead out to the enclosed patio, furnished for relaxing and socialising on a sunny day. On site there’s also an outdoor table tennis table, picnic areas, carp fishing, a paddock for dogs and children to play and seven acres of land to explore. In addition, you’re welcome to use the shared utility/games room, which has darts, table football and air hockey.
Located among a complex of properties, the barn is just 3 miles from Launceston, once the ancient capital of Cornwall, where you’ll find shops, places to eat, an imposing castle and a steam railway. At Roadford Lake, 6.5 miles, there are scenic walks, water sports, archery, climbing, fishing and a popular cafe where you can refuel, while the fabulous coastal town of Bude, with its excellent beach and popular sea pool, is 19 miles.
