This delightful cottage in the picturesque coastal village of Lynmouth has been renovated and refurbished to a high standard. Sitting on the hillside overlooking the East Lyn Valley, wonderful river views can be enjoyed from the living area and master bedroom. The property has a modern style, yet the original character of this 17th-century cottage can still be seen in the beams, inglenook, low thresholds and steep and narrow stairs.
Quietly situated in an elevated position with steps and a sloping pathway to the entrance, you’ll find a stable door that opens into the open-plan living area with a comfortable sofa and a cushioned window seat ideal for enjoying the views. This space has an electric fire in an inglenook, a TV and a PlayStation 3 for watching DVDs. A stylish kitchen area has been well designed and offers all you need to enjoy preparing meals. Steep stairs lead up to the first floor where a spacious double room overlooks the river with a shower room with a large walk-in shower adjacent. Further steep stairs to the second floor open out into a second attractive bedroom with a sloping ceiling and twin beds.
All village amenities are approximately 200 metres downhill including a choice of individual shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Known as Little Switzerland, Lynmouth and its twin village of Lynton are connected by a steep road, a winding exhilarating walkway or the famous water-powered cliff railway – an experience not to be missed. The picturesque harbour, manor green and rock and shingle beach of Lynmouth are great places to relax and enjoy the wonderful sea, river and coastal views. Nature lovers and walkers will delight in the deeply cut wooded valleys and open moorland of the surrounding countryside. For those who wish to venture further, fishing trips are available from the harbour and there are many famous beauty spots just a short drive away whilst the golden sand surfing beaches of Woolacombe, Saunton and Croyde are within 25 miles.
