Property code: OC-DORMYH

This contemporary three-bedroom house sits among similar properties on the outskirts of Westward Ho! village. Flooded with light, its stylish interiors are spacious, with stunning views towards the sea over the marshes from many rooms and the veranda. The house’s unusual ‘upside down’ layout really takes advantage of these vistas. Enjoy open-plan living with large, angular windows and luxurious touches throughout. It is perfect for a multi-generational group of friends and/or an older family (no infants).

The spacious entrance hall is handy for dumping dog towels and shoes. Downstairs, feel the breeze coming through the open bi-fold doors as you relax in the garden room. The stylish bedrooms offer bright and roomy sleeping quarters down here too in the form of two king-size bedrooms and one twin bedroom. All three are gorgeously calm spaces. Upstairs, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is an impressive focal point that’s brilliant for spending quality time all together. There’s lots of comfortable sofa seating, dining furniture for six and a sleek, contemporary kitchen area under its cathedral ceiling. Wide bi-folding doors open onto the furnished balcony affording views over the Burrows. Downstairs, the garden has a lawn and a furnished patio with a BBQ, plus direct access to Pebble Ridge which is great for scenic walks.

There are shops, pubs and restaurants within the village (0.5 miles) if you fancy a treat or short outing. Northam Burrows Country Park Nature Reserve is just behind the property, with walks and wildlife on offer. Test your bravery at Westward Ho! Rock Sea Pool, a tide-refreshed open seawater pool dating back to Victorian times. Back on dry land, explore the stunning South West Coast Path.

Having just spent a week at Dormy house we found the property to be in an amazing location with fantastic views. The property is modern and really clean with everything you could want to hand. Situated just a 10 to 15 minute walk from Westwood Ho! where we found many great places to eat along with other attractions to keep the whole family happy.

This was our second stay at Dormy House, the location is excellent both for the coast and for visiting National Trust, RHS and other gardens. It is very quiet and the Golf Club is very handy for a good breakfast or lunch. The accommodation is very comfortable and facilities are excellent with good wi-fi etc. Thinking about a third visit.

This was our second stay at Dormy House and we had an amazing holiday. Excellent location and luxurious surroundings. Ideally situated for walking to Bideford, Appledore and visiting Instow by car. Right next door to the excellent restaurant at the Royal North Devon Golf course as well.

If we were looking to return to the Westward Ho! area we would be more than happy to return to Dormy House. It's a beautiful modern house, in a very quiet location with fabulous views across Northam Burrows. It's a short walk into the main shopping/bar area and a good base for exploring the North Devon Coast. The golfers from the club next door Read moreoften practice just beyond the boundaries of the garden, which can be entertaining and doesn't really disturb the peace and quiet. Hide

The house was beautiful and clean, the sea views and the lovely sunsets we're relaxing to see. Even the stormy weather mid week was exciting to watch. Just a lovely house in a quiet area it was hard to leave and come back home.
