Fresh, bright and completely charming, this delightful property is the perfect base for a romantic getaway with your significant other. Whether you want to walk, cycle, ride or fish, you can enjoy Devon’s great outdoors, with Exmoor National Park on your doorstep and the coast only 20 miles away. When you return, enjoy a sundowner in your private courtyard or a cosy evening by the wood burner.

Head up the farm lane and cobbled path, and step into the airy, open-plan living space to discover your home-from-home, with pale walls and a wooden floor. The kitchen offers all you’ll need to prepare hearty breakfasts and delicious suppers, plenty of cupboard space and a dishwasher to make cleaning up after a meal efficiently speedy. Dine at the small table and then flop on the sofa for an evening of relaxation. If you feel like a movie marathon, there’s a Smart TV offering plenty of choice. A sleek shower room completes the downstairs, and when you head up to the first floor, you’ll find a delightful double bedroom, with an apex ceiling and views over the courtyard. Just outside the front door, a bistro dining set offers the opportunity for morning coffee or evening drinks in the fresh air.

This lovely cottage, adjacent to a dairy farm, is within 400 metres of Oakford’s friendly village pub and restaurant. Walkers can explore the stunning Exmoor National Park, while if it’s retail therapy you’re after, the lovely towns of Bampton, Dulverton and Tiverton are all within 10 miles. In Tiverton, you can also hire a kayak and paddle along the canal, or hop onto a horse-drawn barge for a relaxing float through beautiful scenery. The National Trust’s Knightshayes is just 8 miles away, and the beach at Minehead is 20 miles away.

The retreat was a compact beautiful stay,just right for us and the dog. It was clean and well equipped. We were made to feel very welcome by the owners and the villagers and would recommend the local pub for a good meal.
