This is a beautiful coastal property in the popular seaside village of Shaldon. If you’re looking for contemporary living in a stylish retreat, this one ticks all the boxes. It is the loveliest of retreats and ideally located to explore the delights of South Devon with the whole family. Its apt name translates from Danish, meaning bliss, cosiness, comfort and friendship. And this property delivers on all accounts, whatever the weather!

Inside this gorgeous property, the accommodation is all on one level, with a bright and spacious open-plan living area which is tastefully decorated and makes for a beautiful place to return home to.The light floods through the wide French doors and elevated window at ceiling level and the corner wood burner is perfect for cosying up to during the cooler evenings. A large soft corner sofa faces the garden, so kick off your shoes with a book and a glass of wine and just relax. There is also thermostat controlled electric underfloor heating throughout making it cosy on chillier evenings. The well-equipped kitchen is perfect for cooking up your favourite dishes, but why not give yourself a break and book a table at one of the excellent restaurants in the village, all within walking distance. Both bedrooms - one king size and one twin both have fabulous en-suite bathrooms with large raindrop shower heads and baths and the rooms themselves are finished to a very high standard with beds strewn with fur throws, fresh white bedding and grey and white decor. Outside, there is a lovely lawned garden area - perfect for children and dogs, plus there’s a seating area with BBQ.

This scandi wood clad cabin is in a central location in Shaldon, a quaint little fishing town, opposite Teignmouth at the mouth of the River Teign, hop on one of the regular ferries and explore further afield. It’s a great place for walking too with the South West Coast Path offering some fabulous coastal strolls right on the doorstep. Follow one of the nature trails, indulge in a spot of bird watching on the river or try your hand at one of the water sports on offer. Golfing enthusiasts will enjoy the 18-hole golf course just a mile away and the charming local conservation zoo is a must, as are the fabulous beaches and the Homeyards Botanical Gardens (1 mile). Visit in August and join in the fun of the annual Shaldon Regatta, so be prepared to get swept up in the merriment! This is a lovely cottage - well situated for strolling into Shaldon and venturing further afield - we had super days ut on Dartmoor and by the coast. It's comfortable, well equipped and wonderfully peaceful.

My aunt and I loved the cottage, it had all the facilities and amenities that were needed. The owner very kindly let us use the bottom of his garden to gain access to the estuary which was wonderful. We loved it there and wouldnt hesitate to come back to Hygge House!

Really enjoyed our week at Hygge House. The large spacious living area was idea for our two dogs and despite the weather being very cold the house was comfortably warm with under floor heating supplemented by log burner and free standing heaters. Ideal location for long walks and Shaldon was a lovely village.

We had a lovely stay at Hygge House. It was easy to find with the clear instructions and there was a surprise welcome which went down a treat. The property is equipped with very high standard appliances, it's clean, spacious, warm, light and very comfortable. The owner gave us some helpful information about the area upon arrival and there was also Read morea stash of leaflets and maps of all the local walks and attractions which was much appreciated having never visited the area before. The town of Shaldon is quaint and pretty with the beach, shop and local pubs within walking distance of the property which is snuggled in its own quiet corner. I couldn't ask any more from a holiday property, it delivered everything I was looking for. Hide
