Spring has Sprung!
Published: Saturday 1st Feb 2014
No matter the weather nothing is more cheering than seeing the first signs of Spring. Daffodils are already appearing, whilst pretty Polyanthus and dainty Snowdrops add to the colourful display.
With daylight extending gradually each day it is a great time to shake off the winter blues and get out and about!
February half term is just a couple of weeks away and for family fun why not join in one of the popular workshops at RHS Garden Rosemoor, Torrington to make a life-size scarecrow! All you need are some old clothes for dressing your scarecrow whilst the support, sacking and straw is all provided. Children of all ages will love getting hands-on with this activity and watching their scarecrow take shape.
There are also workshops for the artistic and imaginative, creating miniature scarecrows using natural and recycled materials.
The workshops vary throughout the week.
There is also still time to visit the Winter Sculpture Exhibition. This year the theme is Myths and Legends. Approx 120 Sculptures are displayed throughout the gardens and are also available for sale. The exhibition is on until 23rd February.
