Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you won’t be surprised to find that this property offers breathtaking views across open countryside to the Atlantic Ocean. Surrounded by farmland, National Trust land and the South West Coast Path, immersing yourself in the stunning landscapes and rural tranquillity of North Devon couldn’t be easier. Despite its quiet location, it is still close to North Devon’s dramatic coastline, beautiful beaches and family attractions. It also boasts a shared games room to entertain kids of all ages!

Spacious and comfortable is not what you would expect from a self-contained annexe, but this property is just that. Like the farmhouse, there are many quirky touches, such as the grand four-poster bed in the double bedroom, a red phone box outside and a ‘waiting room’ sign on the kitchen door, but overall, the décor is traditional and homely. Set on one level, it would offer easy access for elderly guests. With 112 acres of land to explore, including a pond, a playing field and that all important safe storage for your bike and/or surfboard, you will be keen to retire to the open-plan garden area and enjoy a BBQ.

North Devon is famous for its sandy beaches and this property is situated within 3 miles of one of its best, Westward Ho! (2.5 miles). You can also access the South West Coast Path from here, allowing you to further explore the beautiful coastline. Award-winning family attractions are nearby such as The BIG Sheep (2 miles) and The Milky Way (6 miles), but if you’re after heritage, visit the picturesque fishing village of Clovelly (11.5 miles) with its cobbled streets, museums and craft workshops.

  • 1 double bedroom with 4 poster bed
  • Shower room with WC
  • Courtyard area outside the cottage (not enclosed)

Very good value, a well equipped accommodation only 10 minutes walk from the South West Coast Path and a short drive from other lovely places to explore. We loved the quietness and simplicity. Mary, the owner, is a delight and we wouldn't hesitate in recommending Summer Folly to you.

Charming, cottage, not modern but clean and comfortable with just about everything you need. Lovely location, quiet and peaceful with lovely views. Great location for visiting other places and close to footpaths for walking from the door, including to the coast path. Lovely host, helpful and full of local knowledge.

Lovely location 3/4 mile from main road on single track road. View from patio door was delightful as weee the sheep. Cottage very quirky and eclectic. Owner next door was attentive. Quiet and relaxing.. but not as disabled friendly as we had hoped.More suitable for a younger couple

Lovely, quiet location to experience a get away from it all break. An excellent pub, The Thatched Inn, was 5 or 6 minute drive away. Westward Ho! Seafront 5 or 6 minute drive away also. We spent the week going for lunch, reading and chilling out. This property allowed us to do exactly this but was within easy distance of all amenities. Shebberton Summer Folly is a perfect little cottage. A wonderful place to escape for a few days. It has everything you need.
