Property code: WHIHO

This beautiful barn conversion provides comfortable and stylish accommodation for six people close to the pretty coves and wide golden beaches of the North Devon coast. The property nestles within 300 acres of organic sheep and arable farmland and enjoys beautiful scenic views across the rolling Devonshire hills.

The beautiful oak floor in the entrance hallway gives a sense of character and history; much of the wood comes from equipment once pulled by the horses in the roundhouse. The hall leads to the kitchen/diner where you can gather round the farmhouse-style table for delicious home-cooked meals over tales of the day’s adventures. The atmospheric, old-world feel of the building is enhanced by the exposed beams in the ceilings, the oak and slate floors and the spectacular countryside views. But you’re not without modern amenities, including a DVD player in the lounge and TVs in each bedroom. There is a spacious, super-king size bedroom on the ground floor. Upstairs is a comfortable king-size bedroom and a twin bedroom with en-suite shower and WC.

On the coast, Woolacombe (6 miles) offers a long sandy beach and a number of smaller coves and bays: perfect for surfers and fun family days. There’s also a number of bars, shops and eateries for you to browse. The Victorian fishing town of Ilfracombe (8 miles) has a range of activities available including fishing trips, day trips to the island of Lundy, theatres, a marine aquarium, shops, pubs, restaurants and galleries. Travel inland and you can enjoy the beauty of Exmoor, perhaps including a trip to Exmoor Zoo (11 miles). Other family fun days out include Watermouth Castle (7 miles) and Combe Martin Wildlife and Dinosaur Park (8 miles).

  • 3 bedrooms – 1 king-size and 1 twin upstairs and 1 super-king size (this is a zip-and-link bed which can be made up as a twin when requested at the time of booking) on the ground floor
  • 3 bathrooms - 1 family size bathroom with shower and WC on ground floor, 1 en-suite shower and WC and 1 en-suite shower and bathroom with WC upstairs
  • Electric range cooker, integrated fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave and washer/dryer
  • Oil fire effect wood burner
  • Smart TV in lounge and all bedrooms
  • WIFI included (please note due to rural location this may  be slow at times)

This home is an absolute gem. Loads of space, everything is comfortable. The beds were perfect, firm but soft. We slept like dead things. Showers were lovely and the sofas were comfortable too. The garden and surrounding fields were all at our disposal (avoiding the crops of course). We walked around the farm and the forest and said hello to the shRead moreeep. The house is 10 mins drive from both Ilfracombe and Barnstaple. A good spot to stay. We would definitely stay again. Thanks Charmaine :) x Hide

Even though the weather was pretty terrible for April we still had a great time! The accommodation is excellent and very well thought through by the owners. All the little touches like the swing ball in the garden, toys and games in the lounge and Easter chocolate for the children on arrival made it special. The property is situated in a beautiful Read morelocation and really helped you to feel like you were getting away from it all. However you werent far from the beaches and town. A great stay! Hide
