Exploring the waterside village of Instow with this luxurious property as your base is a pleasure. You will find it conveniently situated within walking distance of a selection of pubs, cafes and local shops close to the beach front, making this area the perfect location for a day on the beach or an evening stroll to enjoy the sun setting across the estuary. The house is impressively decorated with a mix of neutral and vibrant tones and is finished with a nautical theme throughout.

The kitchen/diner off the lounge area is the hub of the house, with space to prepare a delicious meal, sit with loved ones, or to step in and out through the patio doors to the decked area and lower ground enclosed garden space. Whether you choose to relax in the second-floor snug area, or the ground floor lounge, stunning views of neighbouring Appledore will greet you. Use the unique double shower in the wet room on the ground floor to quickly wash off and hang any wetsuits after a day spent at one of the many golden sand beaches North Devon has to offer.

For a day on dry land, why not venture the 7 miles to Barnstaple – the largest town in North Devon. Here you can find market stalls, play parks, a bowling alley and even an escape room for the competitive amongst you. If you travel just 6 miles in the opposite direction you can find Affinity Devon, a shopping outlet that’s also home to Atlantis Adventure Park. A day out that is sure to impress the whole family.

Very comfortable, cozy house for a group of 8. Great location for walks to pubs, beach and coastal footpaths. We had very poor weather but still had a great time.

The house is in a wonderful location with easy walking access to the beach, the Tarka trail, the pubs and the super Deli shop. There is plenty of space in the house and it is well equipped, providing facilities for three generations of family. The view from the terrace an bedrooms is really lovely. Caynham is a lovely cosy house set in an idyllic location with fantastic views over the estuary. It has a lovely 'lived-in' feel about it, making it very welcoming. Eating inside or outside, there is plenty of room for up to 10. The bedrooms are all really comfortable too and the fact that most of them have their own own en-suite is a real bonus. I think this is the most beautiful house we have stayed in and we have stayed in quite a few. Location could not be better, very well equipped kitchen and, oh my, the beds are so comfortable. Plenty of hot water and a very cosy house, especially in January. We will return.

Caynham is a beautiful home. This is more than a holiday rental- this is truly a home from home. We are a family of 9, with ages from 85 to 1 year old plus 2 dogs and it was perfect for us. A wonderful holiday cottage in an ideal location, it was clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The caretaker was helpful and sorted out a minor problem very quickly.
