High ceilings and light-filled rooms make this barn conversion property a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a quiet break on the outskirts of the village of Wembury in South Devon. The coast is only 1.5 miles away: a wonderful beach managed by the National Trust, whilst outside the property the delightful garden offers fantastic valley views.

Whatever time of year you visit, this detached single-storey barn conversion property is sure to please. In winter cosy up in the lounge where a warming wood burner sits in the stone fireplace, or in the summer light the BBQ and enjoy relaxed al fresco dining surrounded by views of rolling hills and peaceful countryside. All three bedrooms are situated alongside the living area on the ground floor, with one of the rooms, a twin, offering the added benefit of an en-suite bathroom with a shower-over-bath and WC.

Enjoy the 1.5-mile walk from this property to the beach at Wembury, renowned for its rockpools which are said to be some of the best in the UK. Walks can be enjoyed directly from the beach, with the South West Coast Path leading from here across the cliffs to Mountbatten Point whilst taking in the views across to Plymouth Sound. Of course, being so close to Plymouth, just 6.5 miles away, it would be a shame not to pay a visit to this historic town where visitors can browse the huge range of shops, visit the aquarium, and swim in the beautiful art deco sea-side lido.

We had a lovely week at keepings. Fiona was very welcoming. The cottage was always warm. It was very comfortable and very clean. Had all we needed. Was so peaceful. Great location too. Would love to stay in the spring/summer to take more advantage of the outdoor seating. A very spacious place too.

Lovely clean and cozy cottage. Enjoyed our stay lots and went to many nice beaches in the area. Would definitely recommend the steam train in Buckfastleigh and the otter sanctuary next to it and also recommend the sea tractor in bigbury on sea. There's lots of good beaches for rock pools too and we were able to keep or 7 year old happy.

A little gem ! Simple, spacious, pretty, safe and quiet. Everything we could have wanted. In a beautiful little valley with a view of the sea from the top of the drive, just perfect.

Our family of 5 had a brilliant time in this converted barn. The lounge is massive so provided lots of space for us to enjoy time together and allow our 10 year old to open his presents on his birthday. The location is only a mile and a half away from the coast so ideal for running/exploring the South West Coast Path and rock pools. This cottage is in a lovely quiet countryside setting but in reality, it is only a short drive to the coast and Plymouth. Easy access to the south coast and Cornwall.
