Sitting within the grounds of its owner’s impressive grounds, this property is a wonderful escape to the countryside, with a private hot tub and wonderful river, town and valley views. Situated on the edge of the North Devon town of Bideford, the property enjoys a peaceful setting which is perfect for families, couples or groups. It’s still close enough to the town, however, to enjoy activities like surfing, kayaking and hiking, as well as eating out and visiting the local pubs and cafes.
A reverse-level property, you enter through an entrance hall which leads to a kitchen/dining/living space. A vaulted ceiling, fully-glazed gable and wood burner contribute to making this a wonderfully cosy yet airy room, while the bi-fold doors allow sweeping views of the river, valley and hills. Head through these doors to a private patio and lawned area, where a hot tub, garden furniture and fire pit/BBQ/pizza oven await. You’ll find the bathroom and two bedrooms on the ground floor - one king-size with en-suite and one twin zip-and-link (which can be made into a super king-size on request) - while upstairs a mezzanine lounge offers a space in which to escape the world, with comfortable sofas and TV.
There are some fantastic places to eat in Bideford, to suit a diverse range of palettes allowing some exciting dining options. Venture 4 miles to Westward Ho!, home to a range of fantastic eateries, amusement arcades and some of the best surf in the South West. There are also two lovely villages nearby which are well worth a visit - Appledore (4 miles) is full of cafes, pubs and galleries, while Clovelly (13.5 miles) is an olde-worlde fishing village, famous for its working donkeys.
