Absolutely beautiful. A stunning cottage in a lovely village. Perfectly placed in the centre of everything. Spotlessly clean and everything thought of to make for a comfortable stay. An excellent cottage as a base for North Devon. We enjoyed Appledore very much indeed. The stairs are a bit steep as noted by others, but very manageable if you are sound on your feet. Take the short boat trip across to Instow and have brunch at Johns, or dinner in the Boathouse - food great at both. Johns in Appledore is a great deli. And the steaRead morek at the Flame Factory was great too. The beaches and coastal walks are super - Sauton Beach a must. Highly recommend the cottage ans the area Hide

Stayed with my mum & two dogs in July! We have stayed in quite a few cottages in Appledore and can rate this one 10/10 for location. A really lovely small cottage in an ideal location and not ridiculously expensive. Appledore is terrific and the cottage is in an ideal location to explore North Devon. We really enjoyed our stay. Tip, unless you are very fit do not visit Clevelly, it is a terrifying and quite dangerous descent.

Weve stayed in Appledore several times before and this is by far our favourite cottage. Very central, beautiful decor throughout, cosy with a log burner and lovely views of the estuary. This traditional fisherman's cottage has been sympathetically modernised and is perfectly positioned on a small lane by the quayside (close to the public car park, if no on street parking is available). The cottage is very close to the quay and bedrooms have a great view of the sea. Also close to local pubs so can be very noisy at closing time. Theres no parking but we did manage to park on the road very close to the cottage most days. The car park across the road is free from 6pm to 8am so if youre stuck it doesnt cost to park overnight. The staiRead morers in the cottage are steep and not suitable for those with restricted mobility. There is a very small yard, not very inviting to sit in. Hide

Great shower but bath might be a problem to some people as on a platform which makes it difficult to get in or out of.
