The cottage was great for us. Garden is fine, no frills, but good to have a fairly secure place for our dog and nice to sit out in close to the house. Typical fishermans cottage, nicely decorated and comfy. Close to all that Appledore has to offer and a great base for exploring wider in North Devon. The maintenance man was very helpful, including giving tips on where to eat etc. There is a damp smell throughout and, whilst the property details say children are welcome, there isnt anything in the Read moreproperty for them - would definitely benefit from a stair gate for younger children as the stairs are steep. Wonderful cottage with everything you need to enjoy your stay. A short stroll to the quay. Garden is a real bonus. Our old dog managed to clamber up the steep garden steps. We were surprised at how quiet the cottage was which ensured we slept great.

Lovely cottage in a great spot in Appledore. Best to use the car park at the top of the road it is 30 for a week. Great pubs and places to have coffee all within easy walking distance. The beach is also a nice walk for dogs. This is our second visit. We will be back.

I would suggest putting up a warning sign on the back bedroom door regarding the step down also into the kitchen. The stairs should also be mentioned. We are all in 70/80s and found them really scary! The garden could be a haven but was a mess. Old boards stuffed behind a tree. the garden furniture is filthy. Great location right in centre of Appledore. Wonderful restaurants on your doorstep; we went to the Royal George, Seagate Hotel and The Yard, all of which I would recommend - but good idea to book before you come. Did a lovely walk to Westwood Ho! with our dog. Cottage is a bit dark on the ground floor as it is terraced, but did the job for a long Read moreweekend. Upstairs lovely and light. Beds comfy and clean. Garden could do with better garden furniture and a bit of TLC. Hide

Lovely cottage in a great location. Everything was really clean and the pictures don't really do it justice. The enclosed garden was great for our little dog and would be lovely to use in the summer. Appledore has plenty of cafes and restarts and everything is walking distance from the cottage. Would come back again.
