Well-chosen pieces of furniture complement the carefully maintained original features in this characterful period cottage, lending the whole property an authentic cosy feel. Just a 0.3-mile stroll brings visitors to the centre of picturesque Berrynarbor village where the welcoming pub is a lovely spot to while away an evening.

Four stone steps lead from the road up to the front gate of this cottage and on towards the front door. Once inside guests may be surprised to discover that although the cottage retains many of its original features it is actually an extremely bright and light property with large windows affording beautiful views across the surrounding countryside. As well as the main accommodation which has three bedrooms, there is a separate area at one end of the cottage, boasting its own open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner with a double sofa-bed on the ground floor, as well as a double bedroom and bathroom on the first floor. This, in effect, creates a separate cottage to the main house, making it an ideal property for two families holidaying together. Outside, the 0.3 acres of tiered gardens offers lawns as well as a patio area with a BBQ and garden furniture.

A fantastic base for a holiday, the village of Berrynarbor is located less than 4 miles from the harbour town of Ilfracombe, which not only offers a fantastic range of shops, cafes, and restaurants but is also home to two beaches. It is even possible to head to the harbour to join a day trip across to the beautiful tranquil shores of Lundy in the Bristol Channel.

Great place. Well equipped really enjoyable stay. The garden being fenced in was great to keep the 3 year old grandson and the dog contained. Instructions for refuse collection would be useful.

We had a wonderful time at Holly Cottage! The house is full of quirks and themes and it made exploring even more fun - the twin room was everyone's favourite! The garden is a gift that just kept on giving, every time we thought we'd got to the top, there were more little steps to explore higher. The main bedrooms are accessible via the original cotRead moretage staircase which was a little tricky for my grandma but we thoroughly loved our stay and would definitely visit again! Hide

The location is good for walkers to explore the area and coastal footpaths. However, like the garden, the paths are steep in places! The house and cottage suited our needs perfectly. We also had very good weather to go with it and managed breakfast on the patio every morning.

Lovely stay at Holly cottage over Christmas with 3 generations and a dog. Plenty of room and dining room is perfect. Decor is great and beds comfy. Really nice finishing touches. Garden steep so not suitable for all but amazing views from the top! Lots of little beaches nearby and lovely local pub and community shop.

Fabulous property in stunning area. Garden very steep for small dog and young boys. Lots of hill walking good for cardiovascular workout. Ideal home for visiting surfing beaches of Woolacombe and Saunton sands.

A lovely property. The stairs are a bit precarious for young children as is the garden. The location is wonderful - very peaceful and ideal for a holiday away from the hustle and bustle of life!

Visited with 4 generations of family and had an amazing stay! The cottage was really nice with lots of quirky extras around. It was big enough that everyone was able to have time apart if needed but enough space in dining room and main living room that we could all sit together. My only thing to say is the local pub has closed down and the cottage Read moreis on quite a large hill so not many walks doable if you have people will mobility issues. Hide

The Cottage was really full of character and provided ample living space. The bed linen and bedrooms were inviting and cosy. The location is less good for beaches, but the Heddon valley coast is worth the drive. The Hele Mill tea garden is lovely
