In the heart of Devon, you’ll find your ideal rural hideaway. Located on a family-run working farm, with popular tourist destinations on the south coast and unspoilt villages and beaches around the north, you’ll find something for everyone here. Once you’re done exploring for the day, you’ll find a large patio area waiting - the perfect spot for a cool glass of wine while you put your feet up.

This remarkable barn conversion is light and airy throughout, finished with a casual country aesthetic in keeping with its surroundings. There’s ample space for the family to rest and play, with a magnificent open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner on the ground floor. Start your day catching up over a lazy breakfast, with the sunlight and gentle breeze streaming through the open patio doors and end it by curling up on the cosy sofa in front of your favourite family movie. In summer months, you can even enjoy your dinner alfresco, with garden furniture and a charcoal BBQ provided in the patio area.

For the best of the countryside, head into Dartmoor National Park which you can explore on foot, bicycle, or even on horseback thanks to the local riding stables. Here you’ll also find plenty of trails to keep the whole family entertained, from letterboxing to mystery treasure trails. Exmoor National Park is 20 miles away for those wishing to complete the two tors while in the area. The market town of Okehampton is 7.5 miles away, offering an eclectic array of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs.

We had a lovely week. The cottage is to a high standard throughout and in a wonderfully quiet location if a little hard to locate. But owner was very helpful and talked us through when satnav failed us. Owners dogs came to visit every day. Not an issue as my dog is very friendly but you should keep this in mind when booking as they can access your Read moreprivate area. The river walk is highly recommended. And the home made cake on arrival was amazing along with home grown veg which we loved. Hide

We stayed in this fabulously presented cottage for only 2 nights but enjoyed the comfy beds and were entertained by the ponies, goats and sheep. We fell in love with the 2 friendly collie dogs. What a great location deep in the Devon countryside. Thank you .
