A beautiful converted stone barn, 5 miles north of Holsworthy, this is one of three properties in a complex, on a 170 acre organic farm, the barn is set in stunning Devonshire countryside, with some of Britain’s best coastal walks on your doorstep. Find breathtaking beaches at Bude and Morwenstow (11 miles), and one of England’s most unspoilt coastal villages, Clovelly (14 miles). Holsworthy is a lovely little market town with a medieval church and many old and independent shops, pubs and restaurants.
The barn has been sympathetically restored, both retaining its rustic charm and transforming its interior to a glorious open-plan home with gorgeous country views. The lounge/kitchen/diner is well-appointed and perfect for intimate meals and cosy nights. Open-tread wooden steps lead upstairs. The spacious double bedroom has quirky old beams and a vaulted ceiling, with fantastic farmland views, and the single is tranquil and idiosyncratic with its deep-set window and exposed wood. The bathroom is fresh and bright. Outside is a private patio with BBQ and seating, again with sweet country views. The shared games room is a great space for pool, darts and table tennis.
Why stay in though, when there’s so much to do outside. Summerleaze beach in Bude is a gem – relax at the on-beach swimming pool, watch the high-wave surfers or bring your own board. Stray from the beaten track and find Hawker’s Hut on the Coast Path near Morwenstow; it’s a private little piece of heaven. Go back in time at Clovelly and enjoy the fresh seafood and local ale, and explore Hartland Point with its dramatic white lighthouse (15 miles). Explore Bideford and its wild estuary and dunes (17 miles), art galleries and the North Devon Maritime Museum at pretty Appledore (19 miles). Let this stunning holiday property be your base for marvellous adventures.
