This charming cottage on the edge of the popular harbour town Dartmouth is an idyllic romantic retreat for couples. The town's picturesque setting on the banks of the River Dart is beautiful and its historic streets are home to lots of independent shops and eateries boasting a wealth of local crafts and produce. There is always something going on in the bustling town with lots of popular events throughout the year, such as the Royal Regatta in August.
Bursting with original features, this reverse-level cottage has plenty of character, but its neutral palette and pops of bright colour give it a touch of contemporary style. You enter on the ground floor next to the compact, but well-equipped, kitchen. The spacious lounge/diner on the first floor allows guests to make the most of the views across Dartmouth, whilst high ceilings and white walls add to the feeling of light and space. On the lower ground floor is the master bedroom, complete with a free-standing bath for a taste of luxury. As the property is adjoined to the owner's house, you can share their garden, but you also have use of a private patio area.
Whilst in Dartmouth, take a boat trip on the River Dart, including one to English Heritage's Dartmouth Castle (2 miles). You can also catch the ferry across to Kingswear and take the Dartmouth Steam Railway as far as Paignton on the English Riviera via seaside resort Goodrington Sands. If you prefer to travel on two feet, take to the South West Coast Path and explore the many stunning beaches and villages on this stretch of coastline, such as Brixham, Slapton, Torcross and Beesands.
