This charming cottage on the edge of the popular harbour town Dartmouth is an idyllic romantic retreat for couples. The town's picturesque setting on the banks of the River Dart is beautiful and its historic streets are home to lots of independent shops and eateries boasting a wealth of local crafts and produce. There is always something going on in the bustling town with lots of popular events throughout the year, such as the Royal Regatta in August.

Bursting with original features, this reverse-level cottage has plenty of character, but its neutral palette and pops of bright colour give it a touch of contemporary style. You enter on the ground floor next to the compact, but well-equipped, kitchen. The spacious lounge/diner on the first floor allows guests to make the most of the views across Dartmouth, whilst high ceilings and white walls add to the feeling of light and space. On the lower ground floor is the master bedroom, complete with a free-standing bath for a taste of luxury. As the property is adjoined to the owner's house, you can share their garden, but you also have use of a private patio area.

Whilst in Dartmouth, take a boat trip on the River Dart, including one to English Heritage's Dartmouth Castle (2 miles). You can also catch the ferry across to Kingswear and take the Dartmouth Steam Railway as far as Paignton on the English Riviera via seaside resort Goodrington Sands. If you prefer to travel on two feet, take to the South West Coast Path and explore the many stunning beaches and villages on this stretch of coastline, such as Brixham, Slapton, Torcross and Beesands.

This was our 3rd stay at Conch Azul. We love this house, it's like a home from home. Warm, comfortable and with 4 bedrooms the perfect size for the group of friends that we go away with. The location is great, not far from the harbour with just 2 managable gentle slopes. We are all 60+ and it's hard to find this size of house so close to the harbouRead morer. We have had problems in the past with parking, but this time we bought a 4 day parking permit for 28 which was a great help. Hide

Amazing cottage - warm and cosy with plenty of room in the bedrooms and social areas. Comfy beds and sofas and a big dinning table for group meals and board games. We were a group of six women on a weekend break - everything we needed was there, including milk and Prosecco left by our lovely host, thank you. Easy walk down to the harbour, shops andRead more bars. Parking is a bit tight but once parked up we had no need to use the car until we left. Be aware - Brixham has a lot of steps and hills. Hide

Lovely house, comfortable, spacious and beautifully decorated. Great for a big family, we were 3 adults and two children. Couldnt be better equipped and spotlessly clean. Can take a shortcut to town down steps nearby. Only lost a star because of parking. We stayed over Feb halfterm and had no trouble finding parking nearby, summer maybe more trickyRead more but I would definitely recommend the house. Hide

Great property in a brilliant location. Loads of space and within easy walking distance (NB steep hills/steps!) of the cafes, pubs, shops and the harbour. Yes, parking is difficult, but we had two cars and got one parked outside the house, and the other on the road behind, so not a huge issue. We were in the house over Christmas and the owners had Read moreliterally only just taken it on. I know a deep clean and some basic maintenance will be done in January - after that, this would be a 5* place! Hide

Concha Azul is a great holiday cottage in a really good location and very dog friendly. The cottage is spacious and well fitted out. There is a wide selection of books, games and DVDs. Our visit was in Dec and we were able to park outside the property. I would recommend buying a parking ticket in advance during the holiday season. We had two fabuloRead moreus meals at Beamers Restaurant and fun in The Manor pub. Would definitely book this property again. Hide

An excellent house with every thing one needs for a comfortable holiday. Well equiped, instructions very easy to understand and a lovely, comfortable feel to the house. The location is ideal and the two year old thought the steps up and down from the harbour were a great game each day.. Highly recommended without hesitation.

Good location for exploring the area. Downside was that the property was in need of a good clean, which was unexpected as access to the property is not permitted until 5pm, which you would imagine would give ample time. Parking in the streets above was very easy as there was little chance of parking outside the property. An enjoyable stay nonetheleRead moress. Hide

The house was really comfortable and had everything we needed. The views from the top floor were excellent. The extra touches for the dog were appreciated - bowls, hook, stairgate. There were more steps in Brixham that we anticipated. Not just relevent to the infirm/elderly, but to all. We didn't use the property's outside areas at all, which we haRead mored hoped to, but the harbour was just a quick (very steep) walk down. It was good to meet the owner on the first day - he was helpful and welcoming. Hide
