Escape with friends and family to this fantastic home, nestled in an enviable spot behind the golden sand dunes of Instow beach. Sleeping up to eight people across four bedrooms, this elegant property is a relaxing and homely base in the heart of picture-perfect North Devon. With some of the county’s most spectacular beaches within a few miles, and some great walking and cycling trails nearby, this coastal escape has something for everyone.

Enjoy the sociable benefits of open-plan living in the modern and spacious lounge/kitchen/diner, which has a bright and airy feel. The well-equipped kitchen is perfect for whipping up a snack or meal, while the sliding doors out into the garden are a lovely feature in the lounge area. If you’re in search of some quiet time, retreat to the separate living room, while guests who are in a lively mood will love the additional snug/games area. After an energetic day on the coast, drift off into a restful sleep in the four bedrooms, which are to be found upstairs. Step outside into the lawned garden which is the ideal spot for the dogs and children to let off some steam, while you have a soak in your private hot tub.

Join the famous Tarka Trail cycle and walking route, which is reached via your private gateway and also leads to the dunes and beach. Instow has some super pubs and restaurants to meander over to after a day on the beach, while in the summer months you can hop on the passenger ferry across to the pretty fishing village of Appledore. For some stunning walks, follow the South West Coast Path which snakes around this beautiful area.

  • There is an Accidental Damage Deposit of £350 when booking at this property, however this may be waived for £40. We’ll provide more details about this when booking your holiday.

We had an amazing week at Tides, plenty of space for the 5 of us and a dog . Beautiful house with lots of games and entertainment for the children , a great garden for relaxing in the hot tub and plenty of room for the dog to play . Great holiday home with access to the beach via back gate making it about 2 mins away. But just a walk around road still makes beach 7 mins away. Lovely large rear garden for dog and kids to play in, beds very comfortable just like home from home. One of the best cottages I have stayed in.

Stayed here for 7 days, lovely big garden, hot tub is great edition. Everything we needed the house had. Ideal location for walks and pubs. Dog friendly. Definatley would stay here again.

Beautiful house in a amazing location with excellent local bar/restaurants a very short walk away. The garden was great for the dog and the hot tub was ideal for soaking those tired bodies after a long walk on the beach and tarka trail.

A lovely spacious family house in a great location, with everything you could wish for, greats beds, bathrooms, decorated to a tasteful / high standard, beach only 2 mins walk, pubs 3 mins, a great base to see North Devon.

A fabulous property in a great location, with everything on your doorstep. The house was very well-equipped, very comfortable and lovely and warm. Thoughtful touches appreciated, like the welcome bottle of Prosecco, chocolates placed on top of the folded towels on each bed and even a dog bowl and treats. We used the Tesco store (3 miles) to stock uRead morep and tried all the local pubs. All are close to the property (all dog-friendly). The twins loved the beach and the hot tub. Hide

Had a family get together this year and thoroughly enjoyed the property. Hot tub was especially well received. We did have issues with it but Claire quickly resolved them. Loved the back gate access to the beach, brilliant for the 6 yr old and the dog. Recommend the ferry trip to Appledore and Westward Ho! Beach was beautiful for wave jumping. Lovely house, really nicely finished to a high standard in a great location. Access to the beach & the Tarka Trail by the back garden was a huge plus point. The house was immaculate & beds really comfy. Any questions we had were quickly dealt with by Claire. Great experience all round. Definitely be back.

Thank you for the lovely welcome gift of scones and wine. We book this property because we love Instow, but have come back to the same property, when available, because it has all the facilities we need and more. Its clean and easy to live in for a week or two!
