Two couples and their canine companions can enjoy a first-class stay at this fabulous cottage. Located on the edge of Dartmoor it has en-suite bedrooms, an open-plan living space and pretty courtyard garden. Enjoy walks from the doorstep, master the art of cooking on an Aga or wander a mile into Chagford for a choice of fine eateries.

Follow hedge-lined lanes across the Devon countryside and you’ll find this stunning stone property, part of a skilful barn conversion. Step inside and you’ll find a reverse-level layout that really makes the most of its shared courtyard setting; on the ground floor there’s a convenient cloakroom and two dreamy bedrooms. Choose from a sumptuous super-king-size room with a door to the outside seating area as well as a TV/DVD and en-suite bathroom, or a double with its own en-suite shower room – each is beautifully decorated and private. Up on the first floor together-time is prioritised, the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner full of light thanks to a vaulted ceiling and wealth of windows. There’s a pretty dining suite where you can chat as culinary masterpieces are created on the electric Aga, and when it’s time to unwind the lounge area has a choice of sofas and a TV/DVD. Enjoy chilled-out evenings by the wood burner, or sit in the enclosed courtyard garden where there’s a charcoal BBQ for fresh-air dining.

Walkers will love this location – the surrounding country lanes are ideal for a gentle stroll and there are miles of National Park and moorland to explore. Just a mile away the small town of Chagford circles an octagonal Market House known as the Pepperpot; close by are fine granite buildings, independent shops and galleries plus a choice of friendly pubs, tearooms, cafes and a deli to take the hard work out of any self-catering holiday. Just 3 miles from your doorstep dramatic Castle Drogo overlooks the Teign Gorge, a dog-walking haven of over 1,000 acres.

So much was wonderful about the property, so would recommend it! Minor snags... only one small shower for the two rooms (technically 2nd shower head over bath) and no cooker/hob to cook with, as Aga turned off (weather was so hot)! I had initial concern re narrow lanes sratching my car... which was true for one of the lanes, however we found one laRead morene that was great to drive down - travel straight ahead from property at first minor junction bear left. Great venue, would go again :-) Hide

We really enjoyed our stay in Great Weeke, the little "extras" made the cottage a home from home. Very comfortable, well equipped and tastefully decorated. Superb location for our walking tour of Dartmoor.

We were lucky with the weather and the village offered every amenity. Nattadon Common is well worth a walk.

Fabulous cottage, great deal of the thought put in by the owners to ensure you have everything you need for a good stay. If you are not a walker its not really for you. If you have a large car be warned that your paintwork can / will get scratched down the narrow single track lanes. These tracks can not be avoided to get in or out of the area but tRead morehen again it is situated in a National Park! Hide

A lovely little barn conversion on a shared courtyard off a quiet lane in stunning Devon scenery. A beautiful 20 minute walk into delightful Chagford for food and shops. Upstairs is a great space: immaculately decorated and equipped. Be aware: you have to use the Aga if you wish to cook.
