This charming holiday home lies in the historic fishing village of Instow in North Devon, at the meeting of the River Taw and River Torridge. Sleeping six guests, it’s perfectly placed for families, with the South West Coast Path, shops, pubs, and attractions less than half a mile away. The charming market town of Bideford (3 miles) offers a vibrant pannier market; a Victorian town park with an art gallery, cafe, and paddling pool; and a port with day trips to nature-loving Lundy Island.

Take a flight of steps up to the property entrance where an Edwardian hallway leads through to contemporary country-style interiors; you can also enter the property from the rear garden steps. This pretty home from home offers beautiful furnishings and period features throughout. Watch sailboats from the comfort of living room sofas and enjoy home cooking in the well-equipped kitchen (note: there’s a step from the kitchen to the ground floor WC). Settle into one of the three bedrooms upstairs: one twin with two steps up to it, one double with rural views and one king-size with views of the estuary. On sunny afternoons, relax outside on the patio and make plans for your favourite holiday activities.

Hop on two wheels and enjoy a family adventure along the traffic-free Tarka Trail (0.5 miles). Take the short passenger ferry over to the pretty cobbled streets of Appledore (4.5 miles) which hosts a September book festival. Young children will love The Big Sheep adventure park (4.5 miles), and the Instow Signal Box (0.5 miles) where you can have a safe go at manoeuvring tracks. And green-fingered guests will find garden inspiration and sustainability ideas at Tapeley Park (1 mile), along with family-friendly activities at RHS Rosemoor gardens (9.5 miles).

We had a lovely stay at Sea Thrift. The location was excellent and the accommodation was very comfortable. Lovely walks and Johns Deli...excellent! Would definitely stay here again.

Our accommodation was amazing, very well equipment home with everything we needed! Location was good, had to drive a little further for some of the beaches but nice little bay with a lovely deli which we visited a couple of times. Thank you for a amazing holiday :)

Lovely cottage prepared to a high standard with great welcome pack. Ideal location for Instow and the Tarka Trail. Bus stop a few yards away from the property.

We had a fantastic week. Sea Thrift Instow. is well equipped very clean and cosy . Would stay there again ideal to visit all the area around very good bus service. pubs and restaurants Short walk from house.. Welcome pack most appreciated Elizabeth 09/09/2022

Great base to visit area. Very clean and well equipped. Only one provision shop in Instow; nearest Supermarket is Tesco 5 minutes by car. NB. only one parking space allocated.
