A cottage full of character that would suit families and friends. On the edge of Barnstaple town with easy access to North Devon's beautiful beaches.

Located on the outskirts of Barnstaple in North Devon, this charming, 200-year old cottage is perfect for friends or families. Close to the picturesque countryside and stunning beaches, this property is a great base from which to explore the many delights that North Devon has to offer. You also have the local pub within a few hundred metres when you don’t feel like cooking, or you might prefer to take the short stroll into Barnstaple’s town centre for a wider range of eateries.

Bursting with character, this cottage has lots of original features that the owners have complemented with contemporary furniture and colours to create a comfortable home for the modern visitor. Stepping through the front door, you’ll find yourself in the cosy lounge, where you can snuggle up in front of the wood burner. This leads into the well-equipped kitchen to the rear of the house. Up the stairs, you’ll find two bedrooms on the first floor as well as a family bathroom. Up three more steep stairs, you’ll find the quirky twin bedroom on the second floor. Patio doors lead out into the courtyard where you can enjoy a BBQ and a spot of al fresco dining.

Popular with surfers and families alike, the golden sandy beaches of Saunton, Croyde and Woolacombe are all within 6-12 miles, so sunny days can be spent sunbathing, riding the waves or building sandcastles. Alternatively, you might prefer to take to the South West Coast Path and experience the coast from a different perspective. Heading north, you can explore the dramatic and varied landscapes of Exmoor National Park, with popular towns like Lynton and Lynmouth only 18 miles away. Families can also enjoy days out at award-winning attractions The Big Sheep and Exmoor Zoo (within 13 miles).

The lounge would be too small to accommodate 6 people, the beds are not very comfortable.

This cottage is like the Tardis, small on the outside but when you go inside it gets bigger and bigger. Lovely big, well equipped kitchen. Great to have a dishwasher and washing machine. Super big, comfortable beds with nice linen. Clean bathroom. And, friendly neighbours. Although people in Devon are chilled. Small but pretty garden, safe for our Read moredogs. Hide
