Chocolate-box thatched cottage with wood burner, parking and coastal location. Perfect for families and couples looking for a seaside retreat.

Escape to this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with six friends or family members and enjoy the beaches, coastal paths and undulating countryside. The property is characterful and charming, with plenty of sociable spaces, as well as room to take some time out relaxing.

A Grade-II listed thatched cottage situated in a small village, there is a whole heap of history to explore. The imposing staircase on entering has a carving salvaged from a wrecked ship at Hope Cove, and exposed beams and original stained-glass windows add character to the home. Hang up your coats or beach towels and make your way into the kitchen/diner. Cook up a storm in this spacious and well-equipped kitchen before eating together around the dining table. Relax in the lounge in front of the warming wood burner while watching your favourite TV shows. A handy utility room and WC completes the downstairs, while upstairs are three bedrooms. Head out the back door to a private courtyard, perfect for a morning coffee in the sunshine. To the side of the cottage is an enclosed garden with patio area, garden furniture and lawn space.

Less than 1 mile away is Bantham, home to a large, sandy beach which is particularly popular with those who enjoy watersports such as surfing. There is also a pub and a shop here. This region of Devon is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, explore the sights and scenery on foot from the doorstep and take a walk along the South West Coast Path. A visit to the superb town of Salcombe (8 miles) is a must. It sits on the estuary and offers stunning views and a great mix of shops, pubs and restaurants.

We had a great holiday. Peep o Day is a fabulous spacious cottage in a quiet location. The delicious Devon cream tea was very welcome upon arrival. We enjoyed sitting in the front garden. Amazing cottage, the people who owned it seems lovely (ringing before we arrived) and sending good info. The kitchen equipment was fab and lovely touches like Molton Brown. It felt very luxurious. This is a lovely spacious property and very cleam and accomodating. Was concerned that would be very busy on the road outside of the property due to traffic to bantham beach - this was not a problem as it is not on the main road to the beach. It also means the walk to the beach is fairly quiet especially in the evening for a walk to The Sloop.
