A superb, detached holiday home with outstanding views across the countryside and down to the beautiful bay of Woolacombe.

This dog-friendly cottage, set in an elevated position 1 mile from Woolacombe beach, offers spacious living areas both inside and out, perfect for busy families or groups of friends who can’t wait to embrace coastal life. A light and airy interior, punctuated with bold colours and contemporary soft furnishings, combine to make the draw of evenings around the wood burner as attractive as the morning views of crashing waves under heavenly blue skies.

Every room in the two-storey cottage enjoys a welcoming ambience, with spacious living areas great for social gatherings easily turned into places to grab quiet time. After ascending the steep driveway, arrive in the open-plan lounge, a characterful, naturally lit space whose wood burner will be well used on cooler evenings. It’s here everyone can come together for fortifying meals, with the coastal horizon beyond. The family bathroom is located nearby, and of the cottage’s four bedrooms, one double bedroom is situated on the ground floor. The first floor houses a second bathroom and three further bedrooms - a king-size bedroom, a twin bedroom and second double bedroom. A large, unenclosed decked area with glass balustrades, is accessed via patio doors in the lounge. This wonderful space offers enviable coastal views and is the perfect place to enjoy an alfresco lunch or an evening BBQ. A garden shed at the rear of the property is the ideal storage for your kit.

Woolacombe, famous for its 3 miles of golden sands and gorgeous sunsets, also offers dog-friendly independent shops and eateries. Walkers and cyclists can pick up both the South West Coast Path and Tarka Trail within 1 mile of the cottage, while the Victorian seaside town of Ilfracombe (6 miles) offers a range of amenities, along with trips to Lundy.

We were 4 ladies walking the south west coast path and the house was large and comfortable for us. Lovely comfy beds and hot powerful showers. Even though we are hardy walkers, it was a long walk back up to the house at the end of the day and the bus service was erratic. I would highly recommend this property for its cleanliness, style and location. The views from the terrace were absolutely stunning & the open plan living area was perfect for our family. The walk to Woolacombe wasnt too bad if not a bit steep in the way back and it will get between ter as the path is improved. A much better alternative to walking Read morealong the road whether it was muddy or not! We would definitely come back to Newlands again! Hide

We absolutely loved our stay at Newlands, we can't wait to return in the near future. The welcome hamper was very much appreciated by all! The house and view was beautiful! Highly recommended. Check out at 10am was quite a rush to tidy and pack up cars with our young kids and dog but we made it!

We had a lovely weekend here in this really well equipped property. It has 4 spacious double bedrooms, a large lounge and dining area and a well equipped kitchen with everything we needed. The view from the patio down to the beach and to the fields across the valley was beautiful. Lovely comfortable house. It had everything we needed for a holiday for six adults. In fact, with four good double rooms it would sleep eight with ease. Directly opposite the house is a path down to Woolacombe village avoiding the road. It's a reasonable walk but not difficult (despite what some of the other reviews say).
