This cosy yet unique conversion offers couples and small families a great base from which to explore the whole of North Devon.

Sitting on a quiet country lane 4 miles from Great Torrington, this bright and airy open-plan cottage, attached to the owner’s traditional Devon longhouse, offers a fresh and contemporary feel with an imaginative use of space which will suit an active dog-owning family. Exposed stonework and wooden floors are found throughout, along with high ceilings, a mezzanine level, underfloor heating in the kitchen and shower room, and living areas peppered with tasteful soft furnishings and a garden playhouse.

Entering via the open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner gives a fantastic introduction to the rest of the cottage. This beautifully lit area is a hive of activity, a place for youngsters to watch their tablet before breakfast, where days out are planned and film nights are enjoyed on the sofa - with enough room for parents to enjoy a night cap and some quality time. A beautifully-lit double bedroom stands opposite, leading across to a quirky shower room. A paddle staircase leads from the double room up onto the mezzanine level with a latched gate that guards two futon-style chair beds - perfect for children. Younger guests won’t want to leave the the enclosed garden, with plenty of room for sunbathing and games on the lawn, a BBQ supper and a relaxing dip in the hot tub.

Enjoy miles of scenic countryside on the Tarka Trail, which can be joined 3 miles from the cottage as it passes between Langtree and Little Torrington. Learn about the strategic significance the market town of Great Torrington (4 miles) played in the English Civil War or enjoy water sports, doggie paddles or long walks along the golden sands of Westward Ho! (11 miles).

This is the perfect location if you want peace and quiet. It is very remote. The property is very snug but extremely well maintained. It is also very private and not overlooked. The owner was lovely and very helpful. Lots of nice walks and scenery.

We really had a lovely time. The self contained cottage had everything we needed and was so well equipped. The apple juice and box of celebrations were an added nice treat, thank you. This cottage was perfect for our family of four (mum, dad and two girls aged 10 & 6). We stayed here in 2022 and loved it so much we came back for a second time. It's so peaceful and quiet. The property is beautiful and has everything you need for a very comfortable stay, its a shame that to go anywhere from the property you have to go by car as it is very remote. However, this being said it is very peaceful and relaxing.

Lovely property in a great secluded spot. Everything was easy to use and lovely touch of scones and home made jam on arrival. Only reason marks down on comfort was because the bed was quite soft, but thats because we live a firm mattress!

We stayed at Rose Week cottage early July 2023 for our mini-moon! It's beautiful and we'll always have such special memories of our little holiday there. Super clean, cool and characterful cottage! The location is beautifully peaceful and remote and was a great base to explore north Devon.
