Escape and enjoy an abundance of walks or beach days at this pretty cottage adjacent the owner’s farmhouse. Set in a peaceful spot, yet close to many amenities within a short drive.
Located in serene countryside within 9 miles of Exmoor National Park, this quirky two-storey cottage has a home-from-home feel and suits dog-owning couples keen to escape urban life and enjoy the natural beauty and communities of the North Devon countryside. With open-plan living areas throughout, a private enclosed garden and easy access to the iconic Tarka Trail, relaxing or activity-led days can be enjoyed in equal measure.
Past the five-bar gate and replica Banksy wall art, take a right in the hallway to land in the fresh and modern lounge/kitchen/diner, a cosy, open-plan area for enjoying a leisurely brunch, making plans for the day ahead and returning for a romantic dinner for two before curling up on the sofa in front of a film as an exhausted hound snoozes in front of the wood burner. When the land of nod calls, head upstairs to the super-king-size bedroom with colourful feature wall, feature fireplace and inspiring views out into the open countryside, while a spacious bathroom sits nearby. There’ll be plenty of room in the enclosed lawn garden for the dog to bound about as you enjoy an alfresco lunch, or lose yourselves in books or podcasts well into the afternoon and evening with ice cold refreshments to hand.
A few laps of West Buckland will set you up for the day and the village offers plenty of footpaths that take you as far as you wish in all directions.
