This peaceful cottage is the ideal getaway for couples or families at any time of the year. Stylish decorating and a home-from-home feel will make you fall in love with it immediately. Cosy and welcoming, it offers a comfortable, relaxing break in the heart of Dartmoor, on the edge of the picturesque village of Horrabridge.
Gather around the wood burner in the lounge on cooler evenings and enjoy your favourite shows on the Smart TV or, in the summer, throw open the doors to the patio and bring in the sunshine. The bright kitchen/diner is a great space for preparing and eating meals and snacks, and next door there’s a handy utility room, with a door to the back garden. The shower room and bedrooms are on the first floor – a super-king-size with amazing rural views, and a twin (which can be another super-king-size on request). The south-facing patio at the front of the house is the ideal place to catch the warmth of the sun, while at the back, there’s an elevated, sloping lawn, reached via steep steps, with another seating area in which to relax and enjoy the fresh Devon air.
The fantastic location of this cottage means you’re within half a mile of Horrabridge’s two pubs, shop, art gallery, bakery and fish-and-chip takeaway. The village is famous for its salmon and trout fishing and medieval arched bridge, which is recognisable from the children’s TV series, Bagpuss. Walkers and cyclists can join Drake’s Trail, a 21-mile, multi-use route linking Tavistock with Plymouth, just outside Horrabridge. Running along the western edge of Dartmoor, it offers both superb country scenery and heritage interest such as bridges and tunnels. The market town of Tavistock is 10 miles, and the ocean city of Plymouth is only 15 miles.
