Escape to the country and recharge your batteries with friends or family (plus your canine companions) in this beautiful cottage. Its location makes it an excellent base for exploring North Devon and Cornwall, and you’ll love its original features and welcoming wood burner.
Inside, the barn is designed ‘upside down’ to make the most of its fabulous views across Dartmoor. Go straight up the stairs to the open-plan kitchen/diner, with a soaring ceiling, timber floor and criss-crossing rafters. There’s heaps of space here to prepare meals and enjoy them at the sturdy dining table before you head to the lounge, where you can spend the evenings in the comfortable seating by the wood burner, reading, playing games or watching shows on the Smart TV. The three bedrooms are all on the ground floor: a super-king-size (can be a twin on request) with an en-suite shower room and glazed doors to the patio, a king-size, and a king size bedroom with additional single bed with floor-to-ceiling windows; the latter two sharing a bathroom. The outside space is just as special. Get competitive with table tennis in the barn at the top of the drive, exercise dogs in the half-acre paddock, play games in the garden, enjoy a meal around the picnic table or simply relax on the lawn in the sunshine.
Found along a quiet rural track, the cottage is located on the edge of the small village of Shebbear and close to the Tarka Trail, a flat, off-road route through unspoilt countryside which is perfect for walkers and cyclists. Spend a day at the beach, with rocky and secluded Bucks Mill just 12 miles and popular Westward Ho! 16.5 miles or, if water sports appeal, the North Devon Wake Park is 12.5 miles. The historic village of Clovelly is 14.5 miles, as is the family attraction, The Big Sheep.
