A dynamic abode that’s laid out over multiple levels, this eclectic accommodation choice is a hidden gem on the Cornwall-Devon border. Recently renovated to an exceptional standard, the property sympathetically combines original cottage features with modern decor and appliances to create an entirely enjoyable place to stay. Made with families or couples in mind, the holiday home sleeps four guests and is dog friendly, adding versatility with a zip-and-link bedroom on the first floor to offer comfortable sleeping arrangements for any two sharers. Look forward each day to returning home to this awesome abode after long days exploring the Tamar Valley and beyond.

Original beams, exposed brickwork and sloped ceilings add to the quirky feel of this three-storey place. On the ground floor, an instantly welcoming lounge/kitchen/diner waits with ornate tiling, soft seating, and a wood burner for keeping things cosy throughout the winter months. Two bedrooms are laid out on the first and second floors, one neatly tucked away under the eaves of the attic, and a family bathroom serves both from the first floor. Outside, a large garden invites summer lounging with a lawn space and a furnished patio on an elevated platform.

Roughly separating Cornwall and Devon’s impressive countryside surroundings, the River Tamar is just 1 mile away. Pathways and nature trails stretch along the river and throughout the Tamar Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to create an entirely scenic place to explore. Walk to the picturesque village of Calstock (2 miles) to admire river views from appealing country pubs. Both Calstock and nearby Gunnislake (0.5 miles) offer train stations with local services heading to Plymouth, 20 miles away. This waterfront city is a remarkable place to visit, complete with rich maritime heritage, plenty of appealing attractions and a host of independent shops, pubs, and restaurants.
