An inviting waterside cottage with sweeping estuary views and situated in a prime location within Appledore, this characterful abode is the perfect retreat for a family or group of friends and their waggy-tailed companion. Stroll the cobbled streets of Appledore which is peppered with independent galleries and eateries, before settling in for an al fresco afternoon tea with glistening ocean views on your rooftop terrace.

This cute-as-a-button upside-down property features a joyful nautical interior styled in soft pastel tones. Slide off shoes at the door then discover the three tranquil bedrooms located on the ground floor. Choose from an airy en-suite double, an adaptable king/twin, and a twin – each brimming with coastal charm. Upstairs you’ll find the open-plan kitchen/lounge where you can drink in the magnificent views across the estuary. Potter in the traditional panelled kitchen and whip up some post-adventure snacks or perch at the dining table with a fresh coffee and plan out the perfect North Devon itinerary. On lazy afternoons, why not curl up on the sofa with a sweet treat and admire the peaceful waterscape or settle in for the evening with a movie on the Smart TV? Early risers can embrace the salty ocean breeze as they sip their morning brew from the rooftop terrace overlooking the coast.

North Devon is the perfect destination for a family getaway where you can scope out the friendly local tea rooms of Appledore, within 200 metres, and indulge in a frothy coffee and cake, or hop aboard the summertime ferry to discover the delights of Instow, 1 mile, where you can enjoy sandcastle-building or explore one of the many eateries in the small village. Any adrenaline-seekers will delight in soaking up the easy-going water sports culture of Westward Ho!, 3 miles, with an authentic surf session.

This is a fabulously located cottage with great views of the estuary from the rooftop terrace and all of the living accommodation and bedrooms. It is very well equipped and decorated, with lots of sea themed pictures and objects. We really enjoyed watching and hearing the tide come and go and the boats passing by. Appledore itself is charming with Read moreplenty of choice for eating and drinking. The only minor drawback is the limited storage. The host is very friendly and helpful. Hide

Lovely cottage, great location with fantastic views. Very clean and very quiet. Loved staying thr so much we booked the next while we were still there. Helpful contacts all very smooth arrival and departure.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we liked the layout of the property and the beds were very comfortable. The housekeeping team were excellent. Great location, I was worried before hand about the parking arrangements but it was very easy to unload and reload our stuff and then park in the large car park, a few mins walk away.

Positives: the cottages location with spectacular views of the estuary, the well equipped kitchen area and the outside patio area. The cottage was warm and cosy. This cottage is a gem. The downstairs bedrooms and bathrooms offer comfort and flexibility for families or groups and the living space upstairs is extremely comfortable and offers spectacular views of the estuary. Loved our stay at Waters Edge, very comfortable & cosy cottage with great views across the estuary. The roast dinner at the Seagate Hotel was lovely, with good service & a lovely atmosphere.

The cottage is absolutely amazing with a perfect location. The views of the estuary and local pubs around the corner make this a perfect setting. The cottage is well stocked with all the necessities needed for a perfect stay. Couldn't recommend Waters Edge more strongly. Simply fabulous.

Waters Edge is a fantastic property to stay at. The house is furnished in a fun and nautically themed style. Ideal for the location, with a sun terrace and lounge with awesome views of the estuary/sea. With something always to see, as life ebbs and flows along in front of you. Dog friendly meant our golden retriever had a fantastic time exploring tRead morehe costal path and northam downs at low tide. Tried most of the restaurants in Appledore during our stay. Lovely cottage. The terrace on the top floor is a real bonus. Plenty of places to visit around Appledore. Lots of old interesting little side streets with places to eat and gift shops. Lovely walk along the quay.

Lovely property with amazing views. Very clean, comfortable and well equipped. It is in a small courtyard so off the street a little. It has a nice outdoor terrace with sea views. Its possible to pull up outside to unload and then theres a large car park a couple of minutes walk away that you can park in long stay. The living space in this cottage has amazing light. Each bedroom has a sea view. Great location. One of the nicest holiday homes I have ever stayed in - was very sorry to leave it and Appledore.

Quite simply we found Waters Edge to cater for all that we wanted: it was as we expected from the pictures, it was warm (radiators timed as we have at home it seems, early morning and late afternoon), it was wonderfully situated and the views were much appreciated. Car parking now 22.50 for a week, simple and straightforward. One can park to unloadRead more/load briefly on Irsha Street close to Ibex Court, but keep it quick! The bathrooms were a hit with the ladies. Weather could have been kinder. Hide
