A rural cottage brimming with rustic charm set in the sleepy village of Tedburn St. Mary within easy reach of Exeter. This unique hideaway is the ideal escape for a small family or a couple and their canine companion. Soak up the magnificent architecture as your stroll the cobbled streets of Exeter and dive into a pub lunch on the quayside, before kicking up weary feet and sipping a brew in the ambient warmth of your wood burner.

This beautiful property retains much of its original character, featuring weathered wooden beams, whitewashed stone walls and crisp country interiors. Pass beneath the arched entranceway and along the path to the front door where you can kick off muddy boots before stepping inside. You’ll find a great farmhouse kitchen where you can whip up a simple supper in the farmhouse kitchen overlooking the garden before eating at the wooden table as you debrief on the day’s adventures. After dinner there is no better place than the lounge where you can relax in front of the flickering glow of the wood burner. When it’s time for bed, choose from the bright king-size room with a vanity or the pretty twin. Outside you can enjoy a morning coffee or an afternoon tea perched on the bistro set in the enclosed, lawned garden surrounded by serene countryside views.

Devon is a wonderful location for a relaxing getaway. Soak in the serenity of the Grade II-listed Rougemont Gardens, 8 miles, peppered with vibrant flowers, or venture through the medieval tunnels beneath the cathedral city of Exeter, 10 miles, with a tour of the Exeter Underground Passages. Get back to nature as you amble through the mossy woodland to discover the cascading waters of Becky Falls, 25 miles, and tuck into a tasty picnic seated on the rocks.

Wonderful cottage with all the things you could need for a break away self catering, it even had a magnifying make up mirror in the double bedroom! The cottage was lovely, well equipped and comfortable. The owners seemed to have been very thoughtful in the way it was presented and everyday items supplied. (Used to taking our own soaps, wash up liquid etc). I was fine in the little narrow bit but my son hit his head, possibly a padded bit for the height!!

Stunning cottage, and beautifully appointed. The garden is lovely too. Decent laundry facilities, though I'm so unobservant that I failed to notice the whirlygig in the shed until the day we left! Short ish drive to Dartmoor. Hound Tor a must see.
