Set along the edge of the Dark Skies Reserve on the outskirts of Exmoor, this charming property is a star-gazers’ paradise. With the chance to witness the Milky Way on a clear night, it is the ideal location for a romantic retreat. Inside, the 16th-century converted barn oozes character with its vaulted beamed ceiling and rustic cob walls, and the cosy decor and wood burner adds to its enticing charms.

Step inside and you’ll immediately be struck by the inviting atmosphere of this peaceful escape which offers tranquil views across the mature garden and to the fields beyond. Within the open-plan studio space, the comfy sofa (bed) is approached via two steps - and is the perfect place to curl up with a good book in front of the wood burner. A compact but well-equipped kitchenette ensures you can comfortably cater for your stay and the spacious sleeping area - complete with king-size bed - is a sumptuous place to lay your head after a day of adventure in the beautiful surrounding countryside. Completing the floor plan is a luxurious shower room.

The barn is located on the edge of Exmoor on a working farm that specialises in Regenerative Agriculture and so, offers a spectacular location abundant in wildlife - it is a truly special retreat. With no light pollution stargazing is a must, but if you are also looking for daytime adventures you can have your pick of coast and countryside. Walking routes can be picked up from your doorstep, and you’re 13.5 miles from the fantastic Exmoor. For shops and supplies, the town of Tiverton is 4 miles away.

  • Farm track leads to the property from the main road, which can be bumpy in areas
  • Local pub, The Rose and Crown, 4 miles and shops 6 miles
  • The farm is passionate about Regenerative Agriculture, so do ask for a tour if you'd like to hear more
  • Supermarkets deliver to the door for those special occasions when you don't want to cook
  • Friday Changeovers only please

The property was lovely, very quiet, tastefully decorated and cosy. The cottage was well equipped and had essentials provided. We bought sausages and eggs from the owners, very tasty.

We went for a week. It was the best value for money, and the owners offered outstanding hospitality. The surrounding countryside was also as beautiful as it could be!!! We definitely highly recommend this lovely cottage.

A cosy and comfortable barn located in beautiful scenery. The cottage has all the amenities you need for a break away to relax and unwind. The log burner is wonderful and adds a touch of indulgence. Both of the owners are really friendly and helpful. The surrounding area has many walks you can do from the barn door.
